Imagine working with a specialist company that focuses solely on Japan, designing immersive journeys for English-speaking travellers across Australia, North America and Europe.

With operations spanning both Australia and Japan, this growing boutique business controls every stage of the travel experience, from concept creation and sales through to delivery on the ground. Its reputation has been built on distinctive itineraries, strong repeat business and a business model that challenges the traditional tour operator structure.

As international demand accelerates, we are looking for a commercially driven consultant who wants more than a standard retail travel role.

The Position

This is an end-to-end sales and client management role where you will take ownership of the customer journey.

You will:

  • Manage inbound enquiries across digital platforms, phone and email
  • Craft bespoke itineraries and proposals to suit individual client needs
  • Convert enquiries into bookings and hit targets
  • Maintain accurate client and sales data within CRM systems
  • Guide and support clients at every stage of their journey
  • Handle all travel admin, including client records and documentation
  • Stay current with Japan's tourism trends, destinations and product updates

About You

We are seeking someone with both commercial acumen and authentic destination knowledge.

You will have:

  • Formal qualifications in tourism or tertiary education (Diploma level or above preferred)
  • Current, hands-on experience within the travel industry is essential.
  • Lived experience in Japan or substantial cultural and destination knowledge
  • Strong understanding of Japan's regions, logistics and travel planning considerations
  • Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills
  • Confidence engaging with international clients via phone and video
  • Strong organisational skills and self-management discipline
  • High IT proficiency across CRM and business systems
  • Flexibility to align working hours with global markets when required
  • Japanese language capability (beneficial but not essential)

This role extends beyond booking travel, you will actively influence growth strategy within a small, ambitious organisation.
