Create memorable Australian travel experiences from behind the scenes.
We're looking for an experienced Product Specialist to join an established and growing tourism business specialising in inbound travel across Australia and the wider region.
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves travel, enjoys putting together creative itineraries and gets satisfaction from turning a client brief into a well-planned, seamless travel experience.
About the role:
Working as part of the Product team, you'll be responsible for developing tailored touring programs and working closely with clients, suppliers and internal teams to bring each itinerary to life.
You'll be involved in everything from researching new experiences and negotiating with suppliers through to preparing quotes, coordinating tour details and ensuring the final product meets the client's expectations, operational requirements and budget.
What you'll be doing:
- Design and develop tailored Australian touring itineraries based on individual client requirements.
- Prepare quotes, costing information and detailed tour documentation.
- Source and research suppliers, attractions, activities and unique experiences.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hotels, operators, attractions and other tourism suppliers.
- Negotiate rates, services and inclusions to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Assist with larger proposals, tenders and client submissions, ensuring everything is accurate and delivered on time.
- Stay closely involved throughout the planning process to ensure tours operate smoothly and to agreed standards.
- Communicate with clients regarding existing programs, new opportunities and operational requirements.
- Prepare and review tour descriptions, sales content and supporting documentation.
- Work closely with internal teams, including Accounts, to resolve any invoicing or booking queries.
- Attend industry events, trade shows and familiarisation trips when required.
What we're looking for:
We're keen to hear from someone with experience in travel, tourism, product, cruise or inbound operations who understands what it takes to create a great travel program.
You'll ideally bring:
- Experience developing travel itineraries, touring programs or travel products.
- Strong knowledge of Australian destinations, attractions and tourism experiences.
- An understanding of travel logistics and how to bring multiple suppliers and services together.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- A creative, solutions-focused approach and the ability to think on your feet.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to build strong client and supplier relationships.
- A genuine passion for travel and discovering new experiences.
- Cruise experience would be highly regarded but isn't essential.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience with an in-house reservations or tour operating system such as Tourplan would be advantageous.
Why you'll love it:
You'll be joining a passionate tourism team where your ideas, destination knowledge and industry experience can directly influence the travel experiences being created for clients.
This is a hands-on product role with plenty of variety, strong supplier interaction and the opportunity to work across some of Australia's most exciting destinations and experiences.
Love creating unique Australian travel experiences? Join a passionate team, build great supplier relationships and enjoy an $80K + Super package.
Please note: Due to the nature of tourism and client deadlines, some additional hours, weekends or public holidays may occasionally be required.
