General Manager - Travel Wholesaler
Brisbane CBD | $130K-$140K + Super | Strategic & Operational Leadership Role
A senior executive opportunity for an experienced General Manager to lead a respected travel wholesaler through its next phase of growth in a revitalised tourism market.
This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role based in Brisbane, offering the chance to guide the strategic direction and operational performance of a well-established business with a long-standing presence in the travel industry.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations and strategic development of the business. You'll work closely with functional leads across Product, Marketing, Reservations, and Operations to ensure efficiency, alignment, and commercial growth.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded leader who can move seamlessly between boardroom planning and frontline execution-someone who thrives on seeing strategy come to life through a collaborative, high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and execute business strategy aligned to long-term commercial goals
- Oversee operational performance across key departments to ensure service quality and efficiency
- Drive financial planning, budgeting, and margin improvement
- Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and business improvement
- Champion a customer-first culture across all service touchpoints
- Lead process enhancements, systems optimisation, and cross-functional collaboration
- Maintain strong relationships with industry partners and internal stakeholders
- Provide direct support and mentorship to department heads and team leaders
About You
- Proven experience in a General Manager, Operations Manager, or similar senior leadership role within a travel wholesale or tourism business
- Commercially astute with a strong track record in delivering revenue growth and operational improvements
- Skilled in team leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic planning
- Excellent communication and decision-making ability
- Comfortable balancing strategy with hands-on involvement in a mid-sized organisation
- Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused
- Willing to travel as required
