Travel Operations Specialist - Air Ticketing & GDS SME

We're recruiting for a major travel group seeking an experienced Travel Operations Specialist to join their Brisbane-based team.

This is not a traditional Travel Consultant or ticketing desk role. You'll become a key air ticketing and GDS subject matter expert, providing escalation support to offshore ticketing teams and helping resolve complex ticketing and fulfilment issues.

You'll also have the opportunity to work across process improvement, air content, technology and operational projects.

The Role

• Provide third-level escalation support for complex air ticketing and fulfilment issues
• Troubleshoot issuing, reissuing, refunds, fare rules and ticketing problems
• Act as the SME and escalation point for offshore ticketing teams
• Investigate discrepancies and identify root causes
• Support GDS fulfilment processes and distributed air content
• Assist with fare/content auditing and optimisation
• Work with stakeholders across Supply, Technology, Procurement, Operations and Customer Implementation
• Contribute to process improvement, testing and operational projects
• Help develop knowledge resources and upskill support teams
• Explore automation, AI and other opportunities to improve operational efficiency

Around three days per week will be focused on escalation support, with the remainder dedicated to projects, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement.

About You

We're looking for someone who has spent enough time in air ticketing to become the person others go to when things get complicated.

You'll bring:

• Strong air ticketing and fulfilment experience
• Excellent knowledge of issuing, reissuing, refunds and fare rules
• Strong GDS experience - Sabre highly advantageous, although other major GDS experience will be considered
• Experience handling complex international ticketing scenarios
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
• Confidence supporting and advising other consultants/ticketing teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A genuine interest in systems and process improvement
• Experience across air content, automation, AI or process improvement will be highly regarded, but strong ticketing and GDS expertise is what matters most.

Please note: This is not a standard corporate travel consultant position. Generic GDS booking experience alone will not be enough. We're specifically looking for strong air ticketing, fulfilment, reissue/refund and GDS expertise.

This is a Brisbane-based, office role and is not available remotely. Applicants must be currently based in Australia with unrestricted working rights. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
