A highly regarded Australian tour operator is seeking a Tour Operations Consultant to join their team in Sydney CBD. This is a fantastic opportunity for a polished and organised travel professional who enjoys the detail behind creating seamless journeys and ensuring every tour is perfectly prepared from start to finish.

About the Role

Working within a dedicated Tour Operations team, you will take ownership of tours, coordinating all operational details through to departure, during travel and post-tour completion.

You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, finalising bookings, preparing travel documentation, supporting tour leaders and ensuring every element of the guest experience runs smoothly.

This is a hands-on operations role requiring exceptional attention to detail, strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple tours simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full operational delivery of tours from handover through to completion
  • Coordinate and confirm arrangements with suppliers including hotels, airlines, transport providers, guides and venues
  • Manage booking confirmations, payments and operational deadlines
  • Prepare detailed tour documentation, client travel materials and tour leader packs
  • Liaise with tour leaders, suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth tour delivery
  • Provide support during live tours and assist with resolving any operational issues
  • Complete post-tour follow-ups, reconciliations and internal debriefs
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all tour details are finalised prior to departure


About You

We are looking for a professional and detail-focused travel specialist who thrives in a busy operations environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous tour operation experience (inbound or outbound)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in travel, tour operations or event management
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Confidence liaising with suppliers, clients and tour leaders
  • A professional, polished and proactive approach to your work
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset
