I have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced candidate to join a leading travel company in Melbourne. I am looking for a travel consultant with exposure to group and incentive travel.

You will be a key component of the travel team but also be responsible for group air travel for a variety of clients and events.

Job Description:
* Efficient with all aspects of group travel
* Ability to report and reconcile - accurately and efficiently
* Practice in anticipating problems and proposing solutions
* Understanding of the MICE industry with strong experience with groups and incentive
* Highly organized and with superb attention to detail
* Ability to present internally and externally to key stakeholders and decision makers
* Sourcing and negotiating group fares with airline

Experience Required:
* Be a team player committed to company vision
* Have an absolute passion for the world of travel and delivering outstanding customer service
* A personality that thrives on detail and accuracy, ability to see problems before they arise
* A minimum 2 years' experience working as an international travel consultant, ideally with a groups background, understanding of the luxury and corporate market.
* Direct experience in booking and managing travel itineraries
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* GDS experience essential (preferably with Galileo)
* Advanced experience with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
* High level computer proficiency and willingness to learn new programs
* An ability to confidently deal with and support various personalities
* A mature attitude with initiative and a commitment to job ownership
